CB Note: Well NUT for me re: Feb 25th Lost Bloggage where you wonder why Ben stopped Locke from suiciding and then killed him anyway. I thought that he wanted to get info out of John first, cause at that point we didn't know if he knew about Eloise or not (which is who Locke told him Widmore told him to go see to get back to the island). Also, per Rachel's notes to the same issue about how maybe Ben wanted to be the leader so he wanted Locke out of the way - I think there's a bit of truth to this also, since Ben was always threatened by Locke and jealous of his ties to the island. That showed a lot tonight with him trying to sabotage him/get him killed again/wonder how Locke knew so much about the island. He totally wants to be one with the island like Locke is.

CB Note: Maybe Eko did deserve to die! He was a really bad guy before the island if you'll remember, a killer and a drug dealer. He caused his brother's death. Upon my Lostpedia research, I believe that the reason the smoke killed him was because he refused to confess his sins. Ben did confess to being responsible for Alex's death and was sorry for it.
RK Note: Interesting how smokey kills some, acquits some, and others releases but makes sick/insane like Rousseau's comrades!

Tho perhaps not, it's not clear yet really. He could have stayed with the others for a little bit before going back. Or maybe when returned to Dharma he didnt interact with any of them. Shrugs. I don't think he was lying.

RK Note: Uhhhh i don't think dharmatown is built over the stuff below the temple... i don't think it extends THAT far underground, it seemed like a long hike through the jungle, past the sonar fences, to get to that temple wall..... and if the wall is outside the temple, then the temple is INSIDE the wall... and we've never even seen what it looks like, for all we know its some crazy ultra-modern structure that is surrounded by an ancient looking wall to throw ppl off.

CB Note: Yea I was hoping we'd have more explanation of this too, perhaps in the future. I guess if Penny's mom is an outsider, then it's not Ellie and so she and Faraday aren't true siblings, just halfers. I also still have issues with the timeline. This is happening post-purge, meaning after 1992. So, obviously Penny was born a long time ago, so why is Widmore being punished for it at this point? Something must have happened to turn the tables and put Ben in the power position instead of Widmore so Ben is punishing Widmore for this "rule breaking" that he's done in the past.
RK Note: Right, the timeline makes no sense! Also Faraday and Penny wouldn't be half siblings unless Charles Widmore is Faraday's dad, which is a nut I had tried to make awhile back, but I don't think its been confirmed yet, has it?

CB Note: I'd like to note that earlier in this blog you (incorrectly) said that Caesar was the one who brought Sayid on the plane. Just saying.... Anyhoo, you also are obsessed with connecting these people to Widmore, not in a nutting sense, but in a thinking we already know sense. For the record, we don't know for either yet. So far we had no reason to think she was aware of the island before landing on it. So what's the deal with her being in cahoots with a few other passengers and knowing things about the island, specifically the statue??!
RK Note: What lies in the shadow of the statue?!?!? How is she connected?! How does she know anything?! What is weird is that when ben called widmore he seemed to genuinely have no idea how ben could possibly get back to the island, so how can ilana and them be working for him?!?!?! what DOES lie in the shadow of the statute? is it Jughead the bomb?

CB Note: We've had loads of occassions where people on the island see and speak to people who are dead/not supposed to be there. Perhaps it always is Jacob appearing as other people.
58:00 - pretty good ep. with we coulda had more ben-widmore backstory though. and things still seem weird about the temple, din really learn much. we knew the smoke came from it.
