A Game of Thrones Entry 1

Well, to make up for a lack of Heroes blogging, my impressions on the first few chapters of A Game of Thrones. I warn that I have yet to become accustomed to these characters' names so I will do my best.
JN Note: Huzzah! its about time!!!
CB Note: WooHooo!!!! Character names are super hard to keep straight in the beginning.

We begin with this vexing preface. Who are these creepy Other things that mysteriously kill people? This knight who gets slighted by the young prince will play some part in the future (NUT!)
JN Note: unfortunately, i am not permitted to comment on nuts and raisins.

There is some sort of execution. Totally unfair that they're executing the dude who had his eyes taken in the Haunted forest area. Totally unfair. They found a direwolf pup. I want a puppy!!!! Do direwolves look like the puppies we saw in the Hoboken parade? Probably kinda do but a little more ferocious. [I was attempting to insert the puppy pictures here but my work computer won't let me look at the pictures!!!! Caryn??? :-D]
JN Note: No deserters allowed! duh! Cb - get on it! its prolly not as cute as Hamlet though. I wish somebody's sigil was the Pig. or a Guinness Pint.
CB Note: As in, someone who deserts the Night's Watch, which isn't allowed and is punishable by death.
Ghost, is that you?

Kinda cool that the direwolf pups are like the kids of Ned or whatever. What does it mean that he was killed by a stag? That's gotta symbolize something.
JN Note: does it?
RK Note: The antler in the throat thing DISTURBS me, I just don't even understand how its possible

This scene with Ned and the Queen, whatever her name is...the blatant foreshadowing--Do not worry, no one has seen the Others and some doubt that they exist! Yes, but no one has seen a Direwolf until this morning!--is a bit too much for me but I will give them a break. Something fishy is going on with the Queens sister's husband dude dying. Methinks there was a royal coup. Perhaps because it's called A Game of Thrones. <-- Nash Style Nut.
JN Note: Ned's wife is Cateleyn. The hubris in this entry is palpable. If you desire more of a challenge, worry not, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to display true nut skillz, padawan.
CB Note: Padawan??? And are YOU the Jedi Master of Nuts?? I don't think so!
As I told LB already, Catelyn is Ned's wife, and they are the Lord & Lady of Winterfell. We meet Queen Cersei a couple more paragraphs below...
RK Note: I love a good star wars reference. Winterfell sounds like the coldest place evvvver, its so smart how they built the castle over the hotsprings.

I don't get who these people are in the next chapter. There is a seen where the brother gives his own sister a purple nurple. CREEPY. Who are these people? Is the king who is going to visit Ned in Winterfell the one who overthrew this Dragon family? I guess so. There's gonna be some drama here! <--Another Nash-Style Nut a/k/a stating what everyone is thinking.
JN Note: wait til you get to the Wet Willy scene... And yes, the king going to visit Ned in Winterfell is the one that overthrew this dragon family.
RK Note: I cannot even explain how disturbed I am by the Targaryen tradition of sisters and brothers marrying. EW. Viserys is a total dbag and I don't like how he pinches Dany's nipple and threatens she'll "Wake the dragon" which creeps me out so much every time it is alluded to and makes me think he's threatening to rape her or something. ughhhh.

I had to stop reading in the middle of the King coming to visit Ned at Winterfell. His wife is a biotch. He is going to visit his former fiance at some tomb. We find out he killed the dude who killed his betrothed but kills him over and over again in his dreams. His current wife must be jealous!
JN Note: sounds like that time cb got mad at me for pwnzing her in Mariokart.
CB Note: That makes no sense. You suck at notes.
RK Note: I think I'd probs be jealous too. Also there was some major mysterious foreshadowing about how the original fiance girl died, like it seemed like she lingered like she was sick, but clearly this dude had to do with killing her because the king killed him and then wants to kill him over and over again... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmz
